Silver City Playset
Here's a picture of my old Silver City Playset. I found it in the closet pretty much intact, not bad considering it's 47 years old. I also found some of the cowboys and Indians that went with it. I think I'm going to use it as my mantelpiece.

The Kingsport Inn
While researching a column about the old Kingsport Inn, which was located on Broad Street and was torn down in 1960 to make way for a parking lot, I came across this interesting pamphlet that the Inn handed out to its Out of Town visitors.

Electrified Santa
In the early fifties my father dragged an old discarded Santa display home from Penney's, where he managed the shoe department. He rigged it up and hung it on our front door, creating the Front Door Christmas Decorating Craze that still exists today. I've looked for that old Santa head in the basement and in a closet but I can't find it. I loved it but of course I was only 5 at the time. I loved anything with Santa. I did find this item for sale on eBay that looks a lot like our front door Santa.
