Gay-Ola, The Improved Cola

Gay-Ola was bottled in Appalachia, Virginia and other sites from 1910 until the early 1920s.

Coke sued in 1911 because of the striking resemblance between Gay-Ola's logo and Coca-Cola's logo. The suit was settled out of court but Coke eventually won the battle of the grocery store shelf.
