I thank you for jogging my memory about the First Baptist gym. I was a youngster when the gym was built and was on the first FBC kid team (we had about 15 players), which initiated the church league in Kingsport. As I grew older, it became a Christmas tradition to play at the Church while on holiday break. Throughout college and even later, it was the place to catch up with friends and work off some of the turkey, etc. from the season. I had forgotten the no cussing rule. We had to kick out a few guys on that one, but not too many. I'm glad to hear the gym is still a gathering place. What a great invesment the Church made back in the 1970's.
