Elvis '55 - in Kingsport

This is the ad that appeared in the Times News the day Elvis played Kingsport, Sept. 22, 1955. Somehow I had missed this ad in my research over the years. Note it has a photo of Elvis.



Elvis appeared in Danville, Virginia days before he appeared in Kingsport. Here is a story about that show.



Earlier in the summer Elvis performed in Camden Arkansas.



A star at last. Here is an ad for the Western Bop Jamboree, headlined by Elvis. This was the tour he lead shortly after his tour with Cowboy Copas and the Louvin Brothers ended in Kingsport.
