I have searched and searched and today I remembered they were made by Dolly Madison and then I found this. It truly was the very best. I used to eat around the pecans savoring the last two bites that were left. WOW! Best ever snack cake. Carol

1959 and 1960. This was the hi-light of 5th & 6th grade. Sometimes, I even saw other kids staring at me whilst I ate these treasures. I never shared the secret for fear of creating a world-wide shortage. Now, here is the million dollar question, "Whom amoung us sends the first letter to Dolly and asks here to find that exact recipe, and fire it up again"?

Absolute best snack cake EVER! My dad used to take me to a little grocery in our town and he would buy me one of these as a special treat. I'm willing to write them - maybe they will start making them again!

Ranman of Memphis.....I'm 57 (soon 58) and I loved this pastry. It was a tragic day when I could no longer find them. They were sold at a small neighborhood store,100 yards from grade school, and the last one I purchased was probably 45-50 years ago. The big question is where can I find them now; or how do all of us "french pastry" lovers petion the company to re-make and sell them again. This generation has no idea on what a delight they are missing. I so would love to be able to buy them now...the original taste and ingredients. PLEASE!!!!! Start making these again, your faithful customer, Randy

French Pastry was the absolute best but there were 2 others that were just as great, The Boston Pie and the SuzyQ of the 60's! I was heartbroken when the first two disappeared off the shelves but I still had Suzy to fall back on, then they changed the recipe
in the late 70's and then I had none...

My sister and sold tomatoes from our dad's garden. And when he gave us 'our share' we would walk down to the corner store and buy a French pastry..couldnt wait until allowance day!! So wish they would bring them back..no comparison on the shelves yet!!
