Do you know what the original name of Poston's was? It was Circle Cash Market, built by my parents James and Marie Catron and opened on 3/15/46. I was 1 and my brother was 2. We lived on Miller Street then moved into the apartment below. My mom ran the store and my dad drove for Mason Dixon, then they sold it to the Poston's and we moved to Lynn Garden. I have the original handbill and newspaper ad announcing the opening and a picture of my brother and I in front of the store.
Vince Staten is the author of fifteen books, including "Did Monkeys Invent the Monkey Wrench," "Can You Trust a Tomato in January," "Ol' Diz: A Biography of Dizzy Dean," and the barbecue travel guide, "Real Barbecue." He has been a columnist for the New York Daily News, the Louisville Courier-Journal, the Dayton Daily News and the Kingsport Times News.
