Haney's Place Chili Recipe

Haney’s Place Chili recipe from Nae Windle:

1 lb ground beef

Water, about 1 1/2 cup or enough to cover the beef

1/2-teaspoon salt

1/4-teaspoon pepper

MEXENE chili powder, maybe 4 tablespoons, Nae isn’t exactly sure on that measure. “I go by color.”

1/2-teaspoon paprika

Boil everything down in a saucepan on top of the stove. Don’t brown the ground beef first.

My grandmother made the Kabool's Grocery chili for years. She never measured anything and it always tasted GREAT! My grandmother passed in 2004 but my mother and I still make her chili. I'm going to try the Dutch Boy chili but I'm surprised there is no tomato sauce or paste in it.
