I remember Trooper Daddy Rabbit well as I attended Surgoinsville Elementary in the 40's and 50's. He would park alongside 11 W in front of the School each School Day. I heard that when He stopped someone for speeding in the School Zone He would make them turn around and go back through Town and return at the posted speed limit. Never knew His real Name untill reading Your article. Fred Sandidge Surgoinsville sandidgef@bellsouth.net
Nice article about Trooper "Daddy Rabbit." I now live in Anacortes, WA but read the article when a friend sent it to me. Yes, I too remember him as a fixture under a big tree at the elementary school on highway 11W when I attended there in the 50's. Jimmy Lynn Greer was a classmate of mine during that time. I don't ever remember talking to him about his past. Wish now, I had taken that opportunity. Bill Testerman
